Pictures from the week

These are the Aztec dancers we saw on Sunday in the DF (I talked about this in an earlier post). The connection is too slow to upload a video, but this gives you the general idea. There were drums and incence; it was pretty cool.
This is a mother duck and her babies at the aviary we went to on Wednesday with the kids.

Here is a bird (Mom knows what kind) that we saw at the aviary as well. Right after this picture was taken, we got a video of her laying a fourth egg.

This is Katie and Sonia scrubbing the roof at the Fundación Mendez Arceo on Thursday. The foundation is an environmental group trying to save Loma de Mejía, a natural ravine, from it's current foreseeable fate as a landfill.

This is one of the foundation's collection centers. There is no municipal pickup; all recycling must be citizen run.

Here are some of the títeres (puppets) that we helped the kids make at the school.

Earlier today, Friday, we painted the roof at the foundation that we cleaned yesterday.

Here are the kids at the fiesta at the end of the week, right after watching the puppet shows and right before going to eat cake.

'Nuf said.
